Perpetual Protocol v2 Launch on Optimism Mainnet

Perpetual Protocol v2, dubbed “Curie”, went live on Optimism mainnet.

While this release marks the culmination of months of hard work from the Perpetual team, they’re just getting started and they’ve got a lot of exciting developments planned for the future.

Curie is the result of Perpetual Protocol’s commitment to a user-driven, builder-first approach to DeFi applications which create unprecedented access to powerful financial instruments for users and developers alike.

Curie integrates with and innovates upon one of DeFi’s flagship protocols: Uniswap v3. With v3, Uniswap introduced DeFi and the world to the concept of concentrated liquidity: the ability for liquidity providers to select where along the price curve to provide liquidity–greatly improving the capital efficiency for LPs and opening up the door to a whole number of liquidity provision strategies in the process.

Curie’s integration with Uniswap v3 will allow it’s LPs to employ this powerful new liquidity provision strategy while simultaneously tapping into the large trading volume generated by crypto’s most popular trading product: perpetual futures contracts.

Furthermore, Curie is built on one of Ethereum’s Layer 2 Optimistic roll-up scaling solutions: Optimism. This means faster trade execution with lower gas cost, all while relying on the battle-tested security and decentralization of the Ethereum network.
